As an Interior Designer, every project we take on is a new canvas on which we get to paint a story, a unique narrative that reflects not just our client’s vision but also our own design philosophy. In the vibrant heart of Nepal, amid the intersection of tradition and modernity, emerged Tala Mathi. We had the privilege of creating an atmosphere for a coffee shop that transcended the ordinary. This blog is a glimpse into the journey of designing this exceptional coffee shop.
Concept
BRIGHT, CLEAN, MODERN - these adjectives echo the essence of Tala Mathi Coffee. From its inception, it was envisioned to evoke a sense of freshness and contemporary elegance. Understanding the client’s aspirations became the cornerstone of our design journey, shaping client’s ideas into tangible design elements that adorned the space.
First Impression (Entrance)
The narrative unfolds at the entrance-a symphony of hexagons precisely aligned, an artistic prelude welcoming visitors into a realm where coffee became an art form. Hexagonal elegance graced the entrance with each hexagon, thoughtfully lit, adding a touch of intrigue and drama. Clean lines, geometric precision, and a subtle interplay of lights made the entrance an elegant focal point of the coffee shop.
The Heart of Cafe (Bar)
At the heart of the coffee shop stood the bar. It was more than a countertop. It was a place where functionality met style. We engineered it to be a sleek and efficient centerpiece, where baristas could work their magic while customers savored their drinks. We placed the bar accessible to both the staff and the customers while maintaining the overall circulation.
Vibrant Personalities (Custom Coffee Chairs)
Crafting custom coffee chairs was a challenge here. We designed them in three distinct styles and adorned them in four lively hues. These chairs, in their unique hues and designs added a personal touch to the design, offering varied seating choices, from pastel-colored options to bar stools and outdoor seating.
Crafting the WOW Factor
In each detail, we added wow factors with their own purpose. The green wall we introduced in one corner separated the washrooms from the seating area. This idea not only brought nature indoors but also served a pragmatic purpose. The alluring menu wall, the spacious ceiling, the Nepali font signage nestled within an artificial grass canvas and the featured Nepali traditional wall art, all together created a fusion of history, elegance and modern charm together.
A complete Experience
Designing Tala Mathi Coffee Shop was more than just a project; it was a creative journey. It was about bringing together tradition and modernity, comfort and style, aesthetics and functionality. It was about telling a story through design, a story that continues to unfold with every customer who walks through the door.
