Crafting a Premium Chocolate Kiosk: A Design Challenge at Labim Mall

Crafting a Premium Chocolate Kiosk:
A Design Challenge at Labim Mall

At Vivid Interiors, we thrive on challenges that push our creativity and problem-solving abilities. One of our recent projects was designing and building a 6ft x 6ft kiosk for Chaichai Confectionery, a premium chocolate brand in Nepal, at Labim Mall—one of the finest shopping destinations in Lalitpur. The task was not just about creating a visually appealing kiosk but also ensuring it aligned with the mall’s size restrictions, the brand’s identity, and functional necessities like a display chiller and storage solutions.

With limited space, every inch mattered. We began by sketching multiple concepts to strike the right balance between aesthetics and functionality. The kiosk needed:

                    • A display chiller for chocolates
                    • A small glass cabinet for additional displays
                    • Smartly placed storage cabinets
                    • A flip door partition for easy access
                    • A seamless blend of branding

Once we finalized the design, the real challenge began—constructing the kiosk. It shouldn’t sound like a challenge, but we were not allowed for any on-site work, and drilling or fixing anything to the mall’s floor was strictly prohibited.

Since Labim Mall’s criteria prohibited screwing anything onto the floor, we devised a 6-inch-high platform to serve as the kiosk’s foundation. This platform not only supported the entire structure but also maintained the integrity of our design. Precise measurements and expert craftsmanship ensured a perfect fit.

One of our most unique innovations was an L-shaped folding partition in front of the display chiller. This cleverly concealed the black portion of the chiller, ensuring a seamless look while enhancing brand visibility.

Time was another major challenge—Chaichai Confectionery was launching its first-ever outlet on Christmas Eve. This meant we had just one week to execute the entire build. Our team worked tirelessly, extending hours to ensure every detail was perfected.

We opted for a Duco spray paint finish, known for its premium look. However, since it was winter, drying took longer than expected, leading to minor patches during assembly. Despite this, we ensured the kiosk was ready for the December 24th deadline.

Our dedication to quality didn’t stop at delivery. Understanding that the paint needed more time to settle, we assured our clients that we would refine the final finish after New Year. True to our word, we completed all touch-ups, leaving Chaichai Confectionery with a flawless kiosk that reflected its premium brand identity.

This project was a testament to how strategic planning, design innovation, and team dedication can overcome even the most challenging constraints. At Vivid Interiors, we don’t just design spaces—we create experiences that embody our clients’ visions.
